Career Volleyball Highlights:

 

Getting Started

I started playing volleyball back in 1982 (yes, 22 years ago).

Shenendehowa High School Varsity Team 1986 & 1987; made regional all-star team in 1987. I also was the manager for the Shenendehowa Boy’s High School Varsity Team in 1986 & 1987

Tournaments

Competed in numerous volleyball tournaments since 1990 including sand 2s on Lake Ontario, NY, grass 2s in Richmond, VA and grass 2s (reverse and women’s) around the greater Seattle area

·         1st place finish in 2 women’s grass 2s tournaments (2004)

·         1st place finish in 3 reverse coed grass 2s tournaments (2004, 2001)

·         1st place finish in reverse coed grass 2s (1996)

·         Various 2nd place and other finishes

 

1st Place finish in 2003 reverse coed 4s (hosted by Northwest Volleyball Club) in upper division (Thursdays)

Two-time crowned Duchess (‘2002 and ‘2003) in SFVBClub’s Duke and Duchess Reverse Coed 2s tournaments

USAV

Captain of StrikeForce Red (2002 and 2003) women’s USAV team

·         Regional champions in 2002

 

Other Volleyball Notes:

 

League Play

·         Have played in countless leagues over the past 15 years in 3 states including grass reverse coed 4s, indoor & sand coed 6s and indoor women’s 6s

·         Member of Richmond Volleyball Club in Richmond, VA (1995-1997) where I played 3+ nights per week

StrikeForce Volleyball Club

·         Director of Operations: Managing team registration and head coordinator for the Duke and Duchess tournaments held every summer

·         Vice President on the Board of Directors: Involved with initial setup of the non-for profit organization

Health

·         2 ACL (knee ligament) injuries inflicted while playing volleyball (1996 and 1998) to the same knee (surgery with cadaver tendon twice!)

 

Personal:

 

·         Married to another avid volleyballer (Bill Foote) and related to other fanatics including my brother (David “Jazz” Jaskolka) and my sister-in-law (Marie Vestal Sharpe).

·         Moved to Seattle in 1997 to accept employment at Microsoft. I’m currently working as Group Program Manager for Microsoft.com. You can blame me or thank me for the swift delivery of your Microsoft newsletters.

·         When I’m not playing volleyball, I enjoy spending time making jewelry, playing racquetball, skiing, playing cards, bowling and spending time with friends.
